8 - Amiens to Corbie, Canal de la Somme.

Friday 4th June 2010

Another very hot day. We caught Amiens Lock as it opened at 09:00 (plenty of Sommeliers about, as this is their main base). We lunched below Lock No15 Daours, in the shade of the trees (12:30 to 14:10). Arrived at Corbie, the sheltered moorings above the lock at 16:00. We were in the company of Sagar barge "Laura". The crew put us straight, on the water/shoreline boxes, you get around 5 hours of water and electricity for your 2 Euro, still amazed that no instructions at all, on the box. So we topped up with water for the first time, we were rather in the dark about the water level as Final Fling's water gauge was not working. Another shop at the Corbie "Simply" supermarket, then another good meal in the L'Abbitale (must be OK, the Laura crew had gone there!) Amazed at the amount of Brits about in the town. Nice evening with perfect lighting conditions, so after meal wandered about the town, taking pictures.
