1 - Harefield to Catherine De Barnes - Grand Union Canal.

Monday 8th April 2013

12:40 departure from Harefield Marina . NA plus TB (Magical Trevor) for the first leg of the extended boat move to new Ashby Moorings. Spotted the "Touran" sterned butty and motor just below Cassio Wharf. Arrived at Kings Langley moorings above the lock at 17|:40 and tied up for the night. Spot of shopping in the Spar and God Awful!!! fish and chips from the chippy.

Tuesday 9th April 2013

08:40 departure from Kings Langley. Start of new housing development at Nash Mills. Friendly "greeting" from JT as we passed (vey slowly!). Apparently The Risers was offering Free Beer! Bridgewater Boats  site finally redeveloped. One or two spaces left at Berko "Waitrose" visitor moorings. Cowroast at 16:20, Bulbourne at 17:20 and stopped for the night at Marsworth visitor moorings at 19:40. Anglers Retreat for meal and pint.

Wednesday 10th April 2013

Start from Marsworth at 08:35. Leighton Buzzard Tesco visitor moorings for shop from 12:00 to 12:40. Stopped for the night at Cosgrove Embankment at 20:20. NA managed to avoid steering though MK!

Thursday 11th April 2013

Cosgrove Embankment departure at 08:00. Stoke Bruerne Bottom Lock 10:00, Top Lock 11:45. Blisworth 12:15. Top of  Buckby at 18:00. Stopped for the night above Braunston Locks at 19:00. Meal (excellent) and pint in the recently reopened Admiral Nelson.

Friday 12th April 2013

Left Braunston Top Lock at 08:20. Braunston Bottom at 09:30. Braunston Turn at 09:45. We went astray from here on and carried on the GU. Wigrams at 11:15. Stopped for the night above Cape Locks at 18:50. After wandering about Warwick we resisted the temptation of  'Spoons and ended up at the Spice Hut Indian (OK) in Market Place.

Saturday 13th April 2013

07:50 start from Cape. Hatton Bottom at 08:05. Hatton Top at 11:05. Passed two boats coming down. Water stop, Cappuccino and bacon buttys from Hatton Locks Cafe. On our way at 11:50. Kingswood Junction at 13:25. Diesel at Copt Heath Wharf (90pl untaxed) 15:55 to 16:10. Stopped for the night at Catherine De Barnes (wharf deserted) at 16:30. Steak and a pint in the Boat Inn, which was packed.
