10 - Feuilleres to Haudival, Canal de la Somme, Canal du Nord.

The Somme "Welcome Lady" arrive promptly at 09:00 and we were soon through the bridge, in humid, overcast, rain spot conditions. 10:30, saw us exit the Somme, to continue south on the shared uprated Somme/ Nord section. We hung about to let a loaded pair of Peniches go pass. We shadowed "Together" and "Forever" for the rest of the Canal du Nord. 11:55 out of Péronne Lock. We carried on until we were stopped by lock opening hours, pulling up behind "Forever" "Together" at 19:15, above Haudival Lock. We must have made some impression on this captain, as he came out to take out ropes. After a TNC spagbol, we wandered around the lock and took some pictures. The large side pound, explained away the apparent stopping of the lock filling or emptying, at around half way up or down in these deep guillotine gated Canal du Nord locks.
