Looking up towards A627M blockage.

Looking back towards Castleton.

Looking back from the A627M blockage.

The A627M blockage. The roundabout shown in the road sign will have to be "navigated".

It is believed this access road for the Trading Estate beyond will be used by the canal to get to the other side of the A627M. The canal would then have to skirt round the roundabout.

Canal culverted across this side of the roundabout.

A627(M) roundabout to right, culvert starts at left of picture. There is believed to be enough room / height to get a culvert under the road alongside the fence.

Looking back at the A627(M) roundabout.

Next footpath bridge, canal is culverted for some distance.

Next small bridge below is dropped and culverted.

Narrow, shallow deviation round factory car park built on line. There is enough room to put a navigable culvert through this side.

Looking back at bridge below Rochdale town Arm. Red barrier is associated with connecting up fiberway in newly restored tow path.

Turnover bridge attached to Oldham Road Bridge, stub of Rochdale Town Arm is behind camera.

Looking up to Moss Upper Lock No49.

Restored Moss Lower Lock No50. The Oldham Road Bridge (A671) crosses below lock. Towpath follows smelly tunnel just to right of railings.

Fir Grove Bridge, the work to the left is not associated with the start of rebuilding the bridge.
