Tours 2000, BCN, Severn Estuary, K&A and River Wey

21 - Thursday 20th July - Bristol to Bath. Bristol Avon.

George and Neil set off at about 9.30 to raid the Vodafone shops. Ideally Neil wanted a new agreement (IN HIS NAME!) with a compatible Ericsson phone with the same data connection At the first Voda shop this is exactly what we found and Neil had just enough means of identification to do the deal. Within the hour the phone / data connection was up and running. Neil said goodbye to George in the shopping centre and at 11.50 we were off up the Avon. The junction with the Avon being reached at 12.40. We passed through Lock 5 at 16.00. Eventually we arrived on the Bath Avon river moorings at 17.25. That night we went out to an Italian Pasta joint, once again previously visited by the much travelled Mr Goodland. When we got back to the boat, we attempted to finish Andrew's Lagavulin. During this Andrew came up with a hare brain scheme to retrieve his Landrover from Sharpness using an early morning trip on the Ship's mountain bike. We carried on into the small hours extracting the bike from the engine compartment and reassembling it!
