7- Chelmsford to Heybridge Basin, Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
Monday 7th May 2001
Linda + kids + dogs arrived at 09.00 and Passat abandoned in nearby car park. We shoved off for a non-stop trip back to Heybridge Basin, arriving at 16.15. No trouble was experienced on the way back, except Neil found the shingle shoal below Hoe Mill Lock again! Linda was dropped off at Tesco's and got a taxi back to Chelmsford to pick up Passat. The boat was put to bed, just up the lock cut, as we did not have any real idea when the crew / weather could get together for a return trip up Thames Estuary.
